When Karen left the organization in 2000, she completed training with the Coaches Training Institute and CoachingInstruction.com, as well as in mediation and arbitration, and entered the entrepreneurial arena with her practice in coaching, counseling and mediation.
Karen is often described as an "out-of-the-box" thinker, due to her ability to experience the seemingly impossible as a welcome challenge, and to readily reframe life's obstacles into growth opportunities. Her high energy and down-to-earth, motivational style brings humor, wisdom and practical applications to her coaching and counseling practice, and she encourages people to create and sustain meaningful, conflict-free connections with others along life’s journey.
She loves sharing her excitement for growth and learning with others, inspiring them to find their passion for life and work, to triumph in the face of adversity, and to seek practical, constructive resolutions to complex issues in an ever-changing world. She believes that everything happens for a reason, and that there are lessons to be learned from all events that occur in our lives. Her personal and professional mission is to be a positive influence in others' lives and in a too-often negative world.
